Made with our 6.5 oz Midweight Sunbird Solar™ performance fabric, this shirt delivers UPF 50+ sun protection with more substance than our lightweight sun shirts—ideal for crisp mornings, breezy trails, fall migration and shoulder-season birding.

Moisture-wicking performance helps keep you comfortable as the day warms up, while zinc-based odor protection helps keep the shirt fresher through long days in the field. Hidden thumbholes extend coverage over your hands when you want it and disappear neatly into the cuffs when you don't.

Created from 7.9-oz 90% technical polyester & 10% spandex, this fabric is heavier than our standard Sunbird Solar shirt and is brushed for a soft, warm feel. Resilient against sun, sweat, and saltwater, it won’t fade in the elements. Along with UPF 50+ coverage, it features M-Shield® odor-resistant technology to keep you fresh, and ready for the next sighting. Quick-drying and moisture-wicking. Durable. Machine washable.

Fit

Traditional men's (unisex) fit. Designed with a classic men's cut that works well for a wide range of body types. Men should order their normal size. Women typically achieve the best fit by ordering one size down from their usual women's size.

Forward shoulder seams, tapered wrists, and a longer hem help keep the shirt comfortably in place while birding, hiking, and traveling. Hidden thumbholes provide additional sun coverage and make layering easy.

Very impressed with the quality, feel, and fit of this sun shirt. Nice weight for variable weather, and so soft and cozy! Considering I ordered it on a whim from a brand I was unfamiliar with, it exceeded my expectations. I wear it for birding (of course!) and also disc golf, very easy to move in, don’t feel any seams at all.

I came across Raven sunshirts at a birding festival. I purchased the midweight style for a few reasons: the softness of the fabric, my tendency to get chilled, and an upcoming hiking trip with variable temperatures in the fall. I wore my shirt the next day and the following two days after that, either alone, under a sweatshirt, or with a short sleeved T-shirt on top. I was completely comfortable, the shirt remained fresh smelling, and I washed a stain off the cuff so easily! I decided to buy a second shirt before leaving the festival. Love that it’s SPF 50, too!

I fish a lot and bird as well. The Raven shirt does not feel like the usual synthetic I have worn. it is comfortable does its job and feels more like a cotton shirt - I'm sold
